This privacy policy will explain how our organisation uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide our organisation with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • register for our newsletter, or
  • register in our member zone (for physicians based in Belgium only), or
  • contact us by email, or
  • use or view our website via your browser’s cookies (for more information, please check our cookie policy).

 

Which data do we collect?

For access to our member zone: name, affiliated hospital(s), NIHDI (= RIZIV/INAMI) number, email address.

To receive our newsletter: name, email address

 

How will we use your data?

Our organisation collects your data so that we can:

  • manage your account(s), and/or
  • provide you with expert content in our member zone (e.g. presentations), and or
  • send you newsletters. These newsletters will contain information about our activities and medical and/or scientific news

 

How long will we store your data?

Our organization will keep your data for as long as you are registered as a member in our member zone and/or as recipient for our newsletter. If you request to be removed as a member or unsubscribe from our mailing list, our organisation will delete all your related personal data within one (1) year.

 

Do we use subprocessors?

Our organisation uses subprocessors who process your personal data on our behalf.

Our subprocessor for our website is WordPress.com, a mark from Aut O’Mattic (A8C Ireland Ltd. Grand Canal Dock, 25 Herbert Place, Dublin, D02 AY86, Ireland

Our subprocessor for the newsletter is Mailerlite (MailerLite Limited, an Irish registered company at 38 Mount Street Upper, Dublin 2, D02 PR89 Ireland).

Our subprocessor for establishing and maintaining our member zone is Caseproof, LLC through its software MemberPress. Memberpress only uses stores personal data on platforms of WordPress.com.

Our organization has made sure that our subprocessors are legally required to only process your personal data as instructed by our organization. Our subprocessors will not transfer your personal data to third parties unless it is mandatory by law or court order or in order to provide its services to our organization in the light of this privacy policy.

 

What are our data protection rights?

Our organization would like to make sure that you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • right to access – you have the right to request our organization for copies of your personal data.
  • right to rectification – you have the right to request that our organisation corrects any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request our organization to complete information you believe is incomplete.
  • right to erasure – you have the right to request that our organisation erases your personal data.
  • right to restrict processing – you have the right to request that our organisation restricts the processing of your personal data.
  • right to object to processing – you have the right to object to our organisation’s processing of your personal data.
  • right to data portability – you have the right to request that our organisation transfers the data we have collected to another organization, or directly to you.
