Governing board member — Fabien Wuestenberghs is a trained gastroenterologist with a particular focus on neurogastroenterology and digestive motility disorders. He graduated from UCLouvain in Belgium and completed a joint PhD thesis with the University of Rouen (Normandie University, France) in the field of functional dyspepsia and visceral hypersensitivity. He works at the Avicenne university hospital (AP-HP, Bobigny, France), where he mainly cares for patients with severe functional GI disorders, and at the INRAe laboratory “Physiology of Nutrition and Eating Behavior” (PNCA UMR 914, INRAe-AgroParisTech). His main research themes focus on disorders of gut-brain interactions and their comorbidities, visceral hypersensitivity, and their link with alterations of the gut microbiome.
